Neat atmosphere, friendly staff and prompt service, but pitiful food. The salad was a joke, my casserole was greasy and unappetizing, and the crust on the chicken made it obvious that it was simply the same as the frozen crap you can get out of the frozen section at Walmart. None of the food I saw in that place looked fresh. This is 2015, they need to get with the program. It's a shame too, because the people were so nice that I hated to bad mouth their food.

They have a huge menu and don't really do anything well. Most of the food can be food in the wal mart frozen food section. I ordered a steak salad once from here and it was a paper thin steak uncut over a bowl of salad. You would think the least they could do is cut it up. They only give you ketchup in little disposable cups. Service is the only thing worth coming here for.

Agree with the positive kudos as this is a great casual restaurant and bar. Have been here at least a half dozen times for lunch or dinner. Menu will satisfy anyone and the bar has a number of local micro brewery beers as well as all the other bar fixings. Their GIANT BAKED POTATOES are just that and even though you know that they will be big, the size will astonish you. They are really big and more than enough to satisfy a hungry guy and for the less hungry there is always take-out. And they are stuffed with meats, veggies, cheeses, whatever you might like, or choose from their suggestions. Very yum-a-delicious. Parking is next to building. Not a problem. Outdoor eating area on the concrete surrounding the building. Good for groups and prices and very reasonable. Have taken 2 year olds and other grandchildren without problem. A family place.

I looked at the reviews and thought this appears to be a decent restaurant. I don't know if this was an off day but extremely disappointed. First the one waitress (in jeans and a t shirt) was very rude and short. 2nd my business partner's meal was incorrect. 3rd I ordered a steak and it seemed as if she didn't know the menu so I had to point it out. 4th and most importantly once I received my meal it was honestly the worst ribeye I've ever ordered. The temp was completely wrong, but the taste was so highly dissapointing. I probably would prefer a frozen one that I could microwave. Everything else on the plate was extremely unacceptable as well some kind of fruit concoction that was rubbery. Potato was dry, salad was disgusting. Usually don't write reviews and I travel across the country, but if I can help 1 person not waste their $ and time here then this was worth it.

The food was nasty. It was like they just got tv dinners and put them in a microwave over and over for 30 minutes. My bf and I will not return to the establishment.

This restaurant came highly recommended by some friends who used to live in the area. So on my way out of town, I decided I must decide for myself. And can I say Wow! I got the Nikki Tweed sandwich. Marinated chicken on a garlic toasted roll. Add bacon, cheese, mayo, and tomato but don't stop there...pair with the delicious steak fries and dip all in their fantastic ranch. I will definitely come back.

Instead of trusting yelp, I came here for dinner based on a Hotel front desk staff recommendation--and usually it works pretty well but not in this case. White horse is a local restaurant that carries a local/home cooking/comfort food for folks who live in this area. It was packed on Monday night so I am sure it's a great place for locals but not for me. Based on my server recommendation, I tried one of their loaded baked potato with the chicken salad and it was nothing special. And the biggest reason I am giving them a mediocre review is because they French onion soup wasn't that great. Now, I know I am from NY area so it's one man's opinion but I would not eat here again - service was great even though place it was pretty busy, place was very clean and the food/menu was very reasonably priced.

The operative word here is "average." My wife loves this place. Someone reading that statement will glean much information from the wording. It's never impressed me much. Their burgers are decent and I've had a few other menu items that put me in a thoroughly nondescript mood that I cannot sufficiently describe for anyone using the English language. The last resort of choice if I have anything to do with it. The White Horse is that bland ex you never brag to your friends about in a positive or negative way. She just kind of happened, not unlike any meal I've ever had there.

Great food and good beer selection! A must try is the Charlie O' Chicken sandwich and they also have an awesome club sub. Definitely a Rock Hill staple!

This place is pretty cool. The onion rings are excellent. I usually try a burger of some kind but today tried the Ruben. It was really good. The service, as always, was efficient. I love the way the servers all come by to check on your drinks ... not just "your" server, but all servers. Great job.

First time here tonight after living in the area now a few months. I'd heard pretty good things about them but I wonder now if it was based on nostalgia or limited competition. Food was not bad, but not great. I had bacon, mushroom and cheddar burger--bacon was microwaved like what you'd get from fast food, mushrooms were from a can. Actually patty was good and generous in size. Onion rings tasted like frozen not housemade. Wife had spud with chicken salad, cheeses, and some other stuff in it. She seemed to be pleased. Service was eh...waitress just had a flat personality...didn't introduce herself, ask if we'd dined there, had menu questions, etc...just took our order, delivered it, and later brought or check (after someone else come to clear our plates and offer refills). I will say price was fair...we ate for what you can spend at a casual fare place. $8 for a half pubs burger is really reasonable. I'll probably give it another try to see if this was an anomaly.

While visiting Rock Hill I went here with friends based on recommendations from a few Winthrop students. In spite of ordering a salad with just lettuce and dressing, I received all of the trimmings on my salad. The food I ordered was good, but for whatever reason one of our appetizers was forgotten. The waitress kindly comped the appetizer but it didn't come to our table for a good 30 minutes. I didn't think nachos should take that long, forgotten or not. Everyone working there was very friendly, though.

The White Horse is one of my favorite places. The food is great and not at all over priced. I have had just about everything on the menu and everything has always been delicious. The onion rings are to die for. Also I like that it has dim lighting and a relaxed feeling.

Averagely delicious. I think all their stuff is frozen then thawed before cooking where I like it fresh but that's ok. SOmetimes I'm in the mood for this kind of unique spot, which it is and it never fails me. And I always get a booth, thanks. They have outdoor seats as well, located near the university, usually pretty crowded, has a tiny bar, decent prices and excellent customer service always! It has stuff, not like gross stuff but like sheets decor hung from the ceiling and old poster, pictures, and paraphanelia on the walls which is very cool.

As a staple in rock Hill, This is a great place to go. Food is good, prices are decent. The atmospheere is always great. Tommy ( Owner) is always there and always in a great smiling mood. I love their wings as well. Great selections at the bar and on the menu.

Been going here since I was a tiny child. My parents grew up going on dates here. It has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. I have moved from SC but every time I go back we hit up the White Horse. Love the food, just try to stay away from the quiche. Usually too dry. They need to work on this before I ever order it again. Love this place though, Definitely worth the price.

White Horse has been a staple in Rock Hill longer than I remember. You can go in at any time and the owner, Tommy, is always there. Either behind the bar or greeting you at the door with a smile... A popular place for locals or the Winthrop crowd. They have an outdoor patio which is nice in the summer months along with a full bar. They even have a small banquet room upstairs for private affairs. The menu is pretty diverse but affordable... from casseroles to filets. My "better half" usually gets the filet ( I think around 20 bucks) but I typically get a chicken or cheeseburger (around 8 bucks). The food is good, and the atmosphere is very casual. I recommend this place if you don't want the usual Outback, Chilis, TGIFridays, Fatz Cafe style places. Good food, decent prices... I'd suggest trying this place if you want a refreshing change of pace... they haven't been in business for over 20 years for nothing.

The food here is pretty dang good and very affordable. I also like the fact that they have interesting names for their dishes i.e. nitty gritty grinder, Raving Ralphs Rueben, and the Nikki Tweed. The restaurant is kind of loud when its full (and thats pretty often) so you will probably have a hard time keeping a small child asleep while you eat. But overall, you cant go wrong here. I recommend the fresh baked garlic loaf with cheese for an appetizer.

People raved and raved about this place so I was expecting more. It was reasonably priced and our waitress was nice. The taste of the food was good but the execution was off. Let me explain - I love wraps. I will pick a wrap over a sandwich 90% of the time. I will also often ask if I can turn sandwiches into wraps. I love them. At the top of my wrap list is a caesar wrap or a buffalo chicken wrap. White Horse had no wraps. The waitress said they could turn the buffalo chicken sandwich into a wrap, so I was excited. When it got to the table, I was disappointed. As anyone who has been to chipotle knows, there is a technique to wraps! Warm it, fill it, tuck the ends and roll it! Apparently the person who prepared my wrap has never seen this technique because what I got was chicken, tomato, and onion with a tortilla just rolled around it. When I pick it up to eat, everything fell out of the bottom. I ended up just eating it with a fork WHICH DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF A WRAP! Steak fries were good. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger (I thought it was just ok) but says he likes the wings better. I would give them another try but I would know that they cannot deliver on the wrap front.

The White Horse is the "friends with benefits" of Rock Hill. Eating at chains gets old...and it's boring. Of course we don't want to drive "all the way" to Charlotte for something different (sarcasm free of charge). Just like friends with benefits, the White Horse will always be here waiting for you. No, she's not your first choice, but once you're seated, you'll remember that it's actually pretty good. No, you're not going to write Mom about her...but you'll continue your relationship as friends.
